This item is primarily comprised of letters addressed to Bailey from various persons from 1926-1939 and memoranda from Bailey from 1929-1932. Memoranda include Bailey's instructions on the care of animal skins, the collection of muskrat specimens along the Upper Mississippi River, and a memorandum addressed to Mr. Redington titled "Re: Balance of Nature". Most correspondence is related to the subject of the trapping of animal specimens for various purposes.
