Entries are written on the right hand side of the book, left hand side left or sketches and maps. Includes hand drawn map of a region visited, with locations indicated in a foreign language (conceivably an Indigenous language); inventory including structures and sleds; provisions; sketches of indigenous people; list of Russian and American participants; cross sections with descriptions; sketches of Native American tools and pottery; poetry/lyrics; descriptions of insects; and mineral specimens collected and prepared. On July 24th, receives word of the American Purchase of Alaska.
