Notes
A reissue of the 1861 edition.
Continues Jackson's 1854 publication, A century of ferns (which also was issued as the 10th and final volume of Hooker's Icones plantarum).
Each plate accompanied by leaf with descriptive letterpress.
Most of the plates are hand-colored; a few have actually been printed in green ink.
Plates 31 and 32 apparently misnumbered, matching to text for 32 and 31, respectively? The plate numbering has been corrected by hand by a former owner in the Cullman Library copy.
The plates are signed: Fitch del. et lith.; Pamplin imp.
Hand-colored lithographs drawn by W.H. Fitch, each signed "Fitch del. et lith. / Pamplin imp."
Includes index.
Plates, numbered in roman numerals, accompanied by facing leaf with descriptive letterpress. The descriptions of plates 78, 80, 82, and 86 have headings misnumbered 80, 82, 86, and 78 respectively.
