Notes
The notes and diary document the archaeological work of William Henry Holmes while Yucatan, Mexico, during 1895. He was working for the Field Museum of Chicago. The notebook contains field drawings of local inhabitants, buildings including structural details, notes with observations and personal impressions. There is a typed transcript of the first few pages. Loose notes (some headed "diary) are dated and often headed with location (e.g. Merida, Chichen [Itza?]). They describe travel enroute from Florida as well as observations and personal impressions of local communities. Also includes oversized drawing of an unidentified deserted settlement.
