Notes
Alexander Wetmore records observations of birds in the vicinity of his home in North Freedom, Wisconsin, August 1902 - April 1903. Entries are arranged by date and pages are numbered. Entries are journal-style and more extensive than some of his other field books of this period. Entries cover to birds' observed appearances, actions and songs, as well as Wetmore's setting up traps and meditations on his surroundings, some bird counts, and personal details (companions on his outings and activities). Locations are not as clearly stated, often buried in the text; most locations are indicated by landmark or landowner's name. Includes sketches of birds, and recipe for bee bait.
