Notes
Alexander Wetmore records observations and collected specimens of birds from the vicinity of Lawrence, Kansas and North Freedom, Wisconsin during February - August 1906. It includes specimen numbers 1460 -1963. The notebook was recorded during Wetmore's attendance of the University of Kansas. Entries during August 16 - 30 describe his collecting efforts in North Freedom, Wisconsin. The notebook is arranged chronologically, headings by date. They include specimen information (collector, appearance, location, stomach contents) and journal style entries about collecting events describing weather, environments, birds' behaviors and appearance. In the left-hand column Wetmore records notes about specimens being sent or received. Wetmore collected occasionally with H.E. Fowler. There are specimens from other collectors, most notably in the June 7th entry, several Brazilian specimens from S.A. Adams. Wetmore collected in the vicinity of the Kaw River, Washington Creek, and Wakarusa river in Lawrence, Kansas. There are monthly bird lists on pages 27, 83, 97, and 119.
