Includes a field diary, 4-10 June 1917, correspondence, an expense book, and a report on the investigation. Expense book has three entries, June 4- 9. Short portion of the notebook details information requests, bird lists and counts, June 5 - 8. Includes report "investigation of damage to growing crops by Mourning Doves in North Carolina" (1917) that details general condition in Arcola, North Carolina, brief description of his time there, recommended control methods, observations of Mourning Dove habits, and damage to crops by other birds. There is a bird report for the same area, listing scientific name, frequency of sightings, and locations were seen.
