Correspondence from H.C. Beardslee (Sr.) to John Torrey, dated 1843 and 1879. The 1843 letter chiefly concerns a shipment of plant specimens recently sent by Beardslee to Torrey, collected in Connecticut. The 1879 letter accompanied a money order with which Beardslee requests a subscription to "the Bulletin" for 1879 and 1880; presumably this refers to the Bulletin of the Torrey Botanical Club. Obsolete plant names mentioned include Arabis thaliana, Atheropogon apludoides, Poa fasciculata, Limasella, Aira aristulata, Malaxis loeselii, Malaxis lillifolia, Microstylis ophioglossoides, Duidonia laciniata, Phaseolus perennis, Eriophorum alpinum, Sycopodium, and Poa obtusa Muhl.
