Notes

Correspondence from J.G. Cooper to John Torrey, dated 1865-1868, primarily discussing Cooper's poor health and financial difficulties, which are partly due to his health and partly to the political climate. He tells Torrey he cannot collect plants in the mountains like he used to; however, he does briefly discuss his impressions of some local species of Coniferae.
