This field book documents the field work and travels of Goldman through Mexico between 21 April 1898 and 1 May 1899. Notes are a narrative description of mammal and bird specimen observed and collected interspersed with specimen lists from locations visited. Flora, including agricultural crops, of various locations is also described. Locations include Victoria, Jaumave, Durango, Cocorit, Ocoroni, Chacala (Durango), Mazatlan, Batamotal, and other locations. Goldman keeps a very detailed record of travel, route, and locations visited and also comments on which specimen are common, altitude of localities, weather, and other observations in these notes. Specimen numbers for mammals range from 12418-12679. Specimen numbers are not consecutively listed.
