Field book of banding forms for field notes that are survey records on migratory birds specimens collected in Egypt for the Palearctic Migratory Bird Survey. From the finding aid (SIA RU000435): "The Palearctic Migratory Bird Survey (PMS), a survey of migratory birds, their ectoparasites and the viruses they carry, was conducted in the eastern Mediterranean from 1966 to 1971. The primary PMS operation site was in northern Egypt. Surveys were also conducted in Cyprus and Israel. The PMS involved scientists of the Smithsonian Institution, the United States Naval Medical Research Unit, and Yale University, and was funded by the Army Research Office, the Smithsonian Foreign Currency Program, and the Smithsonian Research Foundation. George E. Watson, Chairman, Department of Vertebrate Zoology, and Curator, Division of Birds, National Museum of Natural History, was Principal Investigator". Surveys were also conducted in Uganda. The forms are dated from August 23 to November 14, 1971. In the first half of the folder there are ten forms per leaf, then five forms per leaf. To the first leaf is attached a card marked with the season (Fall 1971) and the list of form numbers (060-03867 to 060-04500; 060-04593 to 060-04999; 060-07501 to 060-10000; 060-10101 to 060-11555). The forms show the name of the bird species, the form and band number, the date and locality of capture and release, and data on sex, age, fat, wing, weight, presence of parasites, molt and additional remarks.
