Notes
This notebook documents Nelson's field work near Laguna de Aljojuca and on Orizaba Mountain (Volcán Citlaltépetl) in Mexico between 17 and 31 March 1894. Nelson's daily, narrative notes describe terrain, elevations, and geology and the plant, bird, and mammal life he observed or collected. Specimen number #291, a species of Madroños, is included. Elevations where specimen are found are often noted. After Orizaba Mountain, Nelson travels to Orizaba City and Vera Cruiz where he makes travel notes about observations, especially about people.
