Field notes Vol. 646A documents Marshall Avery Howe's botanical collecting of algae in Florida in 1904 and the Bahamas in 1904-1905 on New York Botanical Garden expeditions. It is comprised of a list of specimen numbers 2698-2980, collected March 18-April 3, 1904 in Florida, and numbers 2981-3975, collected April 1904 and January 23-February 18, 1905 in the Bahamas. The list includes dates and locations, and entries have very brief descriptive information on the plant and/or habitat. Most of the Bahamas entries and some of the Florida entries have the plant determination. The end of the notebook has a list of 37 photographs taken in Florida in 1904 and 36 photographs taken in the Bahamas in 1905.
