Notes

This item contains Mearn's description of a new species of Vireo from Arizona. The notes were taken in June and July of 1886, with July 5 and 6 noted as the date of collection for two specimens numbered 4846 (adult) and 4847 (youth). Both were found at Fossil Creek in Arizona. Descriptions of both are accompanied by measurements, physical descriptions, habits, and notes of the song of this bird. A note that the bird is "named in honor of Louis A. Zerega, an accomplished naturalist of New York City," is included on the bottom of the front page. Additional miscellaneous notes on the back are included.
