Alexander Wetmore travels to Costa Rica in 1940-1941 to collect bird specimens for the US National Museum, and examine the the Barro Colorado Island Laboratory and an archaeological site in Guatemala. Materials document Wetmore's travels in Costa Rica. The map includes markings indicating of Wetmore's travel route in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, October - November 1941. Cities marked as departure points include: Liberia, Santa Cruz, Puntarenas, San José, Lias Delicias, and Cerro Santa Maria.
