Contains colour prints of insects and some reptiles of Japan with accompanying plants: bees, caterpillars, dragonflies, butterflies, fireflies, mantis, spider, snake, lizard, snail, beetles, cicada, earthworm, frog and others. Each picture also carries kyōka poems describing the insects. The folding book binding allows each print to fully display on the same side of the leaf.
