Summary also in Spanish.

"April 30, 1971."

"The rare Chilean bee genus Orphana, formerly regarded as belonging to the Colletidae, is placed in the Andrenidae and a new species is described, O. wagenknechti. The relationships of Orphana with other andrenids are discussed. As a result of an analysis of anatomical features, it is decided that Orphana belongs to the Andreninae. This same analysis shows that the monotypic Chilean andrenid subfamily Euherbstiinae must be regarded as a synonym of the Andreninae"--P. [1].
