This field book contains specimen lists of botanical specimens D. Chaves, Bro. Garnier, and Francis Whittier Pennell. Chaves's field notes are found on pages 1-16. Collector numbers 1-360 are included, and accession numbers are written in occasionally besides some specimens. Although his notes are undated, it is presumed they are from the 1920s (possibly 1926) because of the dates of these specimen in the National Museum Herbarium database. Field notes of Bro. Granier are found on pages 19-58. Collector numbers 1-1200 are included. Based on information from the herbarium database, these were likely collected in during circa 1935. Pennell's field notes begin on page 100, continue until page 186, then continue from page 61-90. His collector numbers 16761-20280 are included. Pennell collected these specimens in Mexico in 1934.
