Abstract

DV?D ratios were determined of Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus from New Orleans, Louisiana, and Houston, Texas, areas believed to contain only this subspecies. The data suggest that ?0,50 should be considered as the limiting value for determining specimens as p. quinquefasciatus. This contrasts with the currently accepted criterion for United States populations.
