Abstract

A comprehensive study of the Culicinae of Iran, started in 1980, has revealed 31 species in 4 genera. The status of previously reported species is reassessed and the presently recognized Iranian Culicinae are listed. Keys for the recognition of adult females and 4th instar larvae of the reported species are given.
