Black and white photographs were taken during the Smithsonian-Chrysler Expedition to East Africa in 1926 (Tanzania). Images include: portraits and activities of native people; campsites of the expedition; animals collected; animals in cages being prepared for transport during expedition and sea-voyage. In particular there are several images detailing the trapping of giraffe and zebra. Some images have been digitized; the corresponding number has been written next to or on the back of the photograph.
