Compilation comprised of manuscript copies of over 400 mercantile letters sent to different parts of Mexico and dated from July 21, 1810 to August, 21 1811. The recipients are named but the author of the letters is not identified. The letters are primarily written by one hand, with some sporadic variations. Several letters in this compilation are adressed to the author's sister, Susana Alonso Terán and his cousin Jose Ignacio de la Torre. In others, the author of the letters makes reference to his brother Antonio Alonso Terán. The author of the letters contained in this compilation was probably Francisco Alonso y Terán. Cf.
