Notes
These original photographs mound on mounted and with captions pertain to Stejneger's extensive study of the fur seals of the North Pacific-Bering Sea area. The photographs show fur-seal rookeries, salt houses, bundles of seal skins, local people, the way of life on the fur-seal islands, and general geological features in the villages of Glinka and Karabelni on Copper Island (officially Ostrov Mednyy). Some or all of these images may be published. Many of the photographs are dated August 1895.
