First edition with this title. The main part was published in London, 1570-1571, by Purfoot under title: Stirpium adversaria nova, still the running title. The first 456 p. are sheets from the London edition with Plantin's t.p. substituted, and lacking some prelim. pages. To this have been added an appendix, the edited Rondelet article, indexes in Latin, French, German, Dutch, English, Spanish and Portuguese, and Italian, and the Plantin colophon.
