Two pages of notes on birds Mearns saw but did not collect in Aden, South Central Arabia (modern day 'Adan in Yemen), no date, but probably in 1908-1910 (dates of the Smithsonian African Expedition). Sometimes quantities are included. Additional notes from Nyiro (Samburu Uaso Nyiro Game Reserve) in British East Africa (modern day Kenya) in August and September 1909 and Guas Ngishu (in Northwest Kenya) in 13 November 1909 are included.
