Contents: The wrapper reads: "Oiseaux brillans/ et/remarquables/ du/ Brésil/ placés près des végétaux dont les fruits/ les nourrissent./" Peints sur les lieux/ par J.T. Descourtilz./ 1835. Only two copies known to exist, one in Nat. Hist. Mus. Lib., the other, without text, in the Teyler Foundation at Haarlem. A MS note on the fly-leaf of the Museum copy reads: "Plates printed and apparently published, but text handwritten by calligraphy, not printed, therefore not published." - E[rnst] H[artert].
