Alexander recorded monthly bird lists relating sightings in his hometown, North Freedom, Wisconsin, June 1902 - February 1903. Each monthly list is on a separate sheet of paper, nine in total. A note on the cover the June 1902 list states "copies of monthly bird lists posted on wall." Each list includes a list of birds by their common names and a number totaling the types of birds observed.
