Notes:

This field book contains notes on the paleontological specimen and geology in the South, Midwest, and Southwest United States taken between 1931 and 1955, although not continuously. Cooper describes stratigraphy, often providing color and consistency of shale in which fossils are found. Examples of fossils noted include cephalopoda, trilobites and brachiopoda genera streptorhynchus, pionodema, mimella, and rafinesquina. Other fossil specimen are noted as well. Locations Cooper visits include localities in Virginia, Texas, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, Minnesota, Pennsylvania, Kansas, Quebec, and New Mexico. Index of localities accompanies field notes. Also includes notes from Museum of Comparative Zoology, Harvard University. Some coordinates are included.
