The hydrographic sheet no. 1424 documents collecting of sea bottom specimens from the southeast coast of Mt. Desert Island in Maine, June 24 to July 7, 1879. Lt. Com'd'r C. M. Chester, U.S.N., was commanding the party. The table of data includes date, section number, locality, fathoms, and appearance.
