The hydrographic sheet no. 1549 documents collecting of sea bottom specimens from California including Point Carmel to Kasler's Point and Kasler's Point to Point Sur. Lt. W. T. Swinburne, U.S.N., was commanding the party. The table of data includes date, locality including latitude and longitude with minutes and seconds, fathoms, and appearance.
