Catalog of contraband skins collected by Hamlin in Papua New Guinea while on the Whitney South Sea Expedition. Data includes type, sex, specimen number, location collected, general notes and some dating. Localities include the Louisiade Archipelago, D'Entrecasteaux group, the Trobriand Islands and Woodlark Island. Estimated date in late 1928 based on trip itinerary and other journals. Hannibal Hamlin was an American neurosurgeon who traveled with the Whitney South Sea Expedition beginning in 1927. After original leader Rollo Beck retired, Hamlin was appointed leader of the expedition from March 1928 until January 1930. He left the expedition in August 1930.
