Notes

Correspondence from Robert Caspary to John Torrey, dated 1858. Caspary thanks Torrey for a packet of plants, and mentions a shipment he sent some time ago via Johann Flugel and the Smithsonian Insititution. After some admonishment regarding the condition of the plants in Torrey's shipment ("I take the liberty of asking you not to press the plants so much"), Caspary goes on to discuss the plants he is most interested in, and offers to send Torrey anything he might need from Germany.
