Black and white photographs document work complete work by Robert A. Bartlett for the Invertebrate Zoology department of the Smithsonian during the Greenland Expedition of 1939. Photographs are numbered on the reverse side. Numbers correspond with a list of captions. Captions list information about locations, people photographed, and flora and fauna. Subject matter includes candid images of participants and crew, detail images of flora and fauna including birds (their eggs and nests), musk, and fish; ice bergs; indigenous people aboard the Effie M. Morrissey (some in examples of indigenous garments(?)); examples of local kayaks in use; work on deck; processing specimens. Locations include the vicinity of East Greenland including Angmagssalik [Tasiilaq], Jackson Island, and Kejser Franz Joseph Fjord.
