Correspondence from B.D. Greene to John Torrey, dated 1829-1844. Greene writes extensively of the activities of numerous botanists ("Nuttall has flown away from birds as well as botany & driving away at antediluvian bones, fossil shells, conchology, &c. &c."), discussed their publications, and tracks the movements of specimens. Obsolete plant names mentioned include Corallorhiza innata, Sarothra, Scirpus lacustris, and Splachnum augustatum.
