Field book of banding forms for field notes that are survey records on migratory birds specimens collected in Egypt for the Palearctic Migratory Bird Survey. From the finding aid (SIA RU000435): "The Palearctic Migratory Bird Survey (PMS), a survey of migratory birds, their ectoparasites and the viruses they carry, was conducted in the eastern Mediterranean from 1966 to 1971. The primary PMS operation site was in northern Egypt. Surveys were also conducted in Cyprus and Israel. The PMS involved scientists of the Smithsonian Institution, the United States Naval Medical Research Unit, and Yale University, and was funded by the Army Research Office, the Smithsonian Foreign Currency Program, and the Smithsonian Research Foundation. George E. Watson, Chairman, Department of Vertebrate Zoology, and Curator, Division of Birds, National Museum of Natural History, was Principal Investigator". Surveys were also conducted in Uganda.The forms are dated from April 10 to 20, 1969 and they are numbered 020-07000 to 020-08010. However, a card attached to the first form indicates the numbers 020-07000 to 020-09000.There are five forms per leaf. The banding forms show the name of the bird species, band number, date and locality of capture and release, and data on sex (as determined by plumage, soft parts or otherwise), age (as determined from plumage, soft parts or skull), weight, fat, molt, with additional remarks.
