Field notes Vol. 604 documents Arthur Cronquist's botanical collecting in Utah and Mexico in 1980 on a New York Botanical Garden expedition, with co-collectors including José Luis Villaseñor Rios and Guillermo Ibarra M. It consists of a list of specimen numbers 11702-11776, collected September 20-November 8, 1980. The list contains collection locations and dates, descriptions of plant and habitat, and many have determination (added later). The notebook also contains some additional miscellaneous notes and a long list of bibliographical references.
