The 27 hand drawn illustrations of Pomocentroids were created by Joseph Drayton and John Richard of fish observed or collected during the United States Exploring Expedition, 1838-1842. Some were created during and others after. Includes sketches with varying levels of detail. Some are initial sketches, others preparations for publication. Information includes scientific name, sometimes location, creator, date, and notes. Locations noted include Oahu, Otahuti (New Zealand), Fiji, Valparaiso, Callao, Rid de Janeiro, and Samoa.
