This field book contains Mearns's “Notes of a collecting trip to the San Francisco Mountains, Arizona, May 20 to June 20, 1887”, which includes an index, itinerary, and poem "To Capt. Leonard Heary". Localities include Fort Verde and Beaver Creek. Collector numbers for specimens are 5396-5406. The index lists horned toads and reptiles and batrachians, but no collector numbers are given for these.
