From the finding aid (SIA RU000435): "The Palearctic Migratory Bird Survey (PMS), a survey of migratory birds, their ectoparasites and the viruses they carry, was conducted in the eastern Mediterranean from 1966 to 1971. The primary PMS operation site was in northern Egypt. Surveys were also conducted in Cyprus and Israel. The PMS involved scientists of the Smithsonian Institution, the United States Naval Medical Research Unit, and Yale University, and was funded by the Army Research Office, the Smithsonian Foreign Currency Program, and the Smithsonian Research Foundation. George E. Watson, Chairman, Department of Vertebrate Zoology, and Curator, Division of Birds, National Museum of Natural History, was Principal Investigator". Surveys were also conducted in Uganda. The banding forms, ten per leaf, are dated from March 2 to April 14, 1971, and numbered from 060-10004 to 060-10100 and from 060-03827 to 060-03833. A card, attached to the first leaf, shows the period (Spring 1971 and range of numbers "060 10004-10100, 03827-03866". The forms show the band number, the name of the bird species, the date and locality of capture and release, and data on sex, age, fat, wing, weight, parasites and molt, with additional remarks.
