Charles D. Walcott records observations of a section of the Potsdam Sandstone near Morgan's Creek in Texas and the Algonkian strata on the surface of the Franklin Mountains near El Paso Texas, between 1884-1896. Notes are handwritten; some are listed by date, giving details about weather, surroundings and specimens collected. The majority are descriptions of strata, including types of stone, characteristics, and fossils observed. Measurements for those descriptions are listed with measurements in feet.
