The photographs document Waldo Schmitt's work during the Smithsonian-Hartford West Indies Expedition, 1937, while in Saba. Some images are numbered, have descriptions, and some are duplicates. Subject matter includes stone structures (scenic lookouts); hillside and cliff vistas of coastline; views of bays from aboard ship; local inhabitants at work on beach; candid views of individuals; interiors of local sights; and street scenes.
