The black-and-white photographs were taken as part of the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program, 1962-1967 and 1969. They depict Red-footed booby birds, flocks, chicks, young, eggs, and nests. The photographs were taken on Enderbury Island, French Frigate Shoals, Howland Island, Jaluit Atoll, Layson Island, Lijeron Island, Moku Manu, and Nihoa Island. There are several photographers represented including: A. B. Amerson, R. Clapp, N. Heryford, D. B. Marshall, D.L. Pearson, Frank Smith, and P. Woodward. Labels on the reverse of most photographs list brief captions.
