Field notes document the work of James Lynch in San Salvador [Bahamas] during March 1980, western and southern Mexico during the end of November - December 1980, and Cuba during October - November 1980. Entries are dated, headed with location information, and narrative structure. They describe travel details, work completed, work with colleagues, as well as observations of wildlife and habitat. Entries from Bahamas describe observations of birds and insects, including type (scientific name) and quantity, as well as lists of mangrove samples. Entries for Cuba include annotated drawings of salamanders, and lists of lizards in numbered zones. Notes from Mexico describe salamander collecting and vacation. Also includes an annotated map of Mexico, loose notes, and correspondence.
