Notes

Correspondence from Johann Georg Christian Lehmann to John Torrey and an unidentified correspondent, dated 1836-1840. Two letters in English, dated May 16, 1836 and May 14, 1838, are addressed to Torrey; the first informs him that he and Asa Gray have both been elected members of the Botanical Society of Regensberg, and lists several items that have already been sent to them, including membership "diplomas" and books; the second is a delayed follow-up, discussing some missing packages and specimens yet to be sent. The third letter, written in French and dated January 28, 1840, is addressed only to "Mon cher ami," and mentions Torrey.

In English and French.
