This volume is a catalog of bird specimens collected on islands of Kure Atoll and the Midway Islands on the Pacific Ocean from 1963 to 1965 for the Pacific Ocean Biological Survey Program. This is volume #1 for Kure and Midway, according to a notation on the cover. Collectors include Ludwig, W. O. Wirtz II, R. R. Fleet, D. L. Stadel, P. G. Du Mont, and others. There are two sets of records in the volume. The first set, with records dating from September 6, 1963 to February 6, 1965, records bird collections made.
