The notebook was completed during Edward Preble's work in Wyoming documenting elk and other wildlife populations during March - May of 1911. The notebook focuses mostly on his work in Wyoming on birds. Beginning of the notebook has tables of bird sightings, listing date, bird type (common name), location, quantity, and whether collected. Sites include Gros Ventre River [Flat Creek], Jackson, and Grovont. In the back of the notebook are observations focusing on elk and pertinent descriptions of vegetation and physical surroundings.
