Notes
Edward Preble's notebook documents vegetables planted, grown and sold, 1922-1923, as well as probably trips to Virginia. The notebooks begins with a list of major frosts (with dates) and descriptions of weather for each month. Initial entries are headed with the type of crop planted, indicating the type and variety of vegetable or fruit (i.e. Burbank tomato), quantity planted, and significant dates, including date planted, first ripe, and set out. In the back of the notebook are lists, headed with type of crop, that may indicate either locations where they were sold or purchased. These include prices. Information is recorded from the back and front of the notebook.
