Alexander Wetmore went to southern Pennsylvania in 1922 to investigate the condition of Texas Bobwhite (also known as the Mexican Quail) introduced from northeastern Mexico, in cooperation with the Pennsylvania State Game Commission. Work was completed while employed by the U.S. Department Agriculture (USDA), Bureau of Biological Survey. Includes field notes, 31 October - 4 November 1922, reports, correspondence, reference materials, hunting permit, maps (one with markings), and an expense book. Includes documents entitled The Introduction and Present Status of Mexican Quail in Pennsylvania (includes itinerary, illustrations, and tables); Pennsylvania's game program especially the sportsmen - landowners' problem and the value of the Pennsylvania hunter's license tag; office of the Board of Game Commissioners, Harrisburg, Pa; The Buchanan Forest District; Annual Report of the Board of Game Commissioners of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (1919 and 1921).
