Black and white photographs depict San Juan, Mexico being consumed by the lava flows of Paricutín Volcano, during its period of eruption, 1943-1952. Photographs were taken by Gerardo Anderson, and are undated. One image shows a street with damaged building with the volcano smoking in the background, the other image shows the volcano emitting smoke, with people about an open space in the town. A large cross is in the foreground.
