Notes

"Western juniper is in the early stage of encroachment across hundreds-of-thousands of acres across southwest Idaho within the Bruneau-Owyhee Sage-Grouse Habitat (BOSH) project area, degrading sage-grouse habitat. Juniper encroachment has been identified as a major threat to sagebrush ecosystems and, consequently, to sage-grouse and its habitat in southwest Idaho which includes the BOSH project area. The purpose of this project is to improve and maintain suitable sage-grouse habitat...by removing early stage encroaching western juniper on BLM-managed lands. The project area includes 1.67 million acres within the Boise District"--Page 3.
